WELCOME TO A QUIET PLACE
These are two paintings I completed when I was the Artist on the Garden
on the Tewksbury Historical Society Garden Tour. I just did some
finishing touches this week and have some interest in them. The Window
Garden was done from one of the many photos I took that day and the
Rose Arbor was done plein air. I had a wonderful day working in this
garden. I have never been in a garden that had so many "rooms"...each
beautifully walled or separated from each other! There were also many
unusual supports including fountains, some of which were antiques.
There was a kitchen garden where vegetables had been planted and
growing on vines and the most beautiful sweetpeas on vines (one of my
favorite garden flowers!) There were other gardens on this tour that
also were beyond imagination.
If you have never been on one of the Tewksbury Historical secret garden
tours plan ahead! (every other year) This year the event will be a Barn
Tour. I am sure it will be an incredible experience and plan to attend.
I am definitely looking forward to getting out to paint in the Spring!
